1. Create a film page
Remember that before uploading your screener you have to create a film page, fill all the required information (film title, director, language, duration, logline, synopsis) and add a landscape and portrait photo. In order to do this, open the drop down menu and click on ‘Company’ to access your ‘My Data’ interface. There click on ‘Films’ and then on> ‘+Add a New Film’. Once your film page is set, you are ready to upload the screener.
2. Click on '+Add'
In your film page, click on ‘+Add’ next to Screener, in the ‘Media’ section located on the left side of the page.
3. Set the viewing rights
In the viewing rights section, you can choose who can access your screener on Cinando. It can be either all Cinando members or specific groups of users (certified buyers, certified sales agents, certified festival programmers, Europa Cinemas members). You can choose one or several groups.
Another option is to allow screening requests, which you can either accept or deny afterwards.
You can also decide to hide your screener on Cinando and only send screening invitations to anyone you want, including non-Cinando members. To do so, simply select “Hide (On invitation only)”.
In the viewing rights, you may also activate geo-blocking in order to restrict access to certain countries of your choice. If you would like to activate this option, you first need to set the available countries in your film page.
You can also enable or disable playback navigation and playback speed change for your viewers.
Finally, you need to choose between 2 options in terms of watermark display: either static or moving.
- Static: The user's name will be incorporated into your screener and visible at all times for maximum security.
- Moving: The user's name will appear every 15 minutes for 20 seconds at a time on the screener.
4. Select a quality package
The price of the quality package depends on: the quality of the encoding (HD 720p or full-HD 1080p) and the storage time (either 6 months or 1 year). Of course, you'll be able to renew your screener for a small fee after its expiration date.
5. Upload your video file
Before uploading your video, please carefully read our technical requirements and make sure your file conforms with our specs.
After choosing a quality package, you will be redirected to the upload page, where you need to click on 'Browse'. Choose your file, and then select the upload region in which you are based. Wait for the file to be uploaded until the mention ‘Thank you for uploading! Now you can leave this tab’ appears. You can then ‘Close’ the uploader.
6. Wait for the encoding to be done
You now have to wait for the file to be encoded on the platform. The screener won’t be available right away as it needs a few hours to be encoded to our standard format and to be encrypted. Once it's done, you will receive an email asking you to check and validate your screener.
Please Note: if you don't validate your screener, it won't be available on Cinando. So make sure you don't forget this step!
7. Validate your screener
In order to validate the screener, click on the link in the email you have received. Another way is to log into Cinando and go to ‘Screener Manager’ in the ‘My Data’ section, and click on the edit pen icon next to the screener.
Warning: Cinando Screeners does not support film replacement fuction. This means that once the encoding is finished, you cannot change or replace the file unless there has been an error in the Cinando encoder. Otherwise you will have to pay for an extra upload fee.
