How to upload a screener for a Video Library or a Partner?

Summary: To upload a screener, first create a title and add a Video Library Cover in "My Company Data." Then, upload your screener under "SCREENERS". Select "PARTNER EVENTS" with your token for visibility. After upload and transcoding, publish the screener. Videos must be under 200 GB, in supported formats, with H.264 codec recommended.

First step: create a Title and add a Video Library Cover

Once logged in, click on your avatar in the top-right corner and select My Company Data.

Before uploading your screener, you need to create a dedicated film or content page.

 Go to OUR TITLES, click on ADD and follow the steps (see our full article if needed).

⚠️ Important: once your title has been created, go back to OUR TITLES, locate it, and click the EDIT PEN icon on the right.

Scroll down to the POSTER & COVER section and upload an artwork for the Video Library Cover. Without it, your content will appear blank on the platform.

 

Upload your screener

Once your title is created and your Video Library Cover filled up, click on SCREENERS in the left-hand menu of My Company Data.

Click on UPLOAD on the right-hand side.

Search for your specific TITLE in the search bar. 

Click NEXT and follow the instructions.

⚠️ Important: Once you reach Step 4 – Screener Visibility, select PARTNER EVENTS and use the token you received to upload your screener. It will then be automatically linked to the corresponding event.

If you wish, you can also make the screener available to the Cinando community by selecting the appropriate confidentiality level. Please note that if no option is selected, the screener will remain hidden from the Cinando website.

You can then configure additional settings and security options, including player options and watermark display. Please note that these settings can be customized for each invitation you send afterward

Next step: a window will open, allowing you to upload your file. You can then edit the metadata below, which may appear in the media player.

⚠️Important: Keep this page open until the upload is completed. 

 

 

Your screener will be available once transcoding is complete.

The transcoding time primarily depends on the length of your video but is also influenced by technical factors such as file size, format, and codec.

You can also monitor the progress at any time in the FILES section (My Company Data > Screeners > Files).

 

 

Publish your screener to complete the upload

 

Once the process is finished, you will receive an email with instructions to publish the screener.

 

Go back to My Company Data > Screeners, select on the screener you uploaded and click on PUBLISH SCREENER

Technical Recommandations

Video files must be no larger than 200 GB and provided in one of the supported formats (mp4, mov, avi, mkv, webm, wmv, etc.), with audio and video multiplexed into a single file. Accepted frame rates range from 23.976 to 60 fps.

The recommended video codec is H.264 (Apple ProRes is also accepted but may result in longer upload times), with a minimum bitrate of 3 Mbps for 720p and 5 Mbps for 1080p. The minimum resolution is 1280 × 720, with 1920 × 1080 recommended for optimal quality. Videos must be progressive or de-interlaced.

Audio must be AAC, stereo only, with a minimum bitrate of 256 Kbps.

If transcoding is required, the free software HandBrake may be used. Upload time depends on file size and internet speed; a minimum upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended.

The latest versions of Chrome or Firefox are recommended, running on Windows 7 or later or macOS 10.7 or later.
